Introduction

We're excited to introduce the revamped Report Builder in Launchmetrics Discover — designed to make your reporting experience smoother, faster, and more flexible.

This article will walk you through what’s new, how it works, and how you can get early access before the official launch.

Whether you're just exploring the revamp or already activated it, you'll find everything you need to get started here.

What’s New – Key Improvements

The revamped Report Builder brings a set of powerful enhancements to help you generate, customize, and manage reports more effectively.

✨ Highlights:

  • Full feed filter compatibility: Use all available filters from your feed view to create tailored reports.
  • Save report configurations: Easily save report settings to reuse or export whenever you need — no more rebuilding from scratch.
  • Set visibility preferences: Decide whether your report is Private (visible only to you) or Global (shared across your team).
  • Quick access to export formats: Choose your export type (PDF, Excel, etc.) and download reports in just a few clicks.

These improvements are designed to give you greater control over your reporting process while saving time and ensuring consistency.


How It Works – Step-by-Step Guide

This section explains how to use the revamped Report Builder once activated, whether you're starting from your feed view or managing saved reports.

📍 From the Feed Page

Start building your report directly from the content you're exploring.

  1. Apply filters to your feed (e.g., date range, brand, media type, placement type).
  2. Click “Create Report” in the top-right.
  3. Select your preferred report type (e.g., Excel, Power-point or Online.
  4. Configure your report by selecting options
  5. Click “Save Report” to store the configuration.
  6. Choose report visibility settings:
    • Private: Only visible to you
    • Global: Visible to all users in your site

 

📍 From the Reports Page

Manage your saved reports with ease from the dedicated Reports section.

  • View all previously saved report
  • Edit reports: You can choose to update the existing version or “Save as New” — perfect for turning a template into a final report version without overwriting the original.
  • Delete reports:
    • Users can only delete their own private reports or global reports they created.
    • Managers have full rights and can delete any report, including global ones created by others.
  • Export report 

💡 Pro Tip:

Use relative date periods (like Current Month, Previous Month, Current Quarter, etc.) and set a comparison period when building your reports. This way, you don’t need to rebuild reports every time — just click “Export”, and your report will be automatically updated with fresh data based on the selected timeframe.

Here are some common questions you might have:

Q: Will my reports created in the old builder still be accessible?
A: No, as on previous builder you were not able to save them you will start fresh with an empty list of reports

Q: Can I revert back to the old Report Builder?
A: Once activated, the new experience replaces the legacy version for a more seamless workflow.

Q: Can I share a saved report with teammates?
A: Yes — when saving your report, select Global visibility to make it accessible to your team.

Q: Do my saved configurations include filters and layout?
A: Absolutely. Your saved reports retain your chosen filters, layout, and export format.

Q: Can I modify a report without changing the original?
A: Yes – when editing a report, you can either update it directly or “Save as New”, which is ideal for adapting templates into final reports without losing the original setup.

Q: Can anyone delete a global report?
A: Only the creator of a global report can delete it. However, Managers have permission to delete any report regardless of who created it.
