Using the Zebra RFD8500 w/ 2D Imager RFID scanner with your Samples application requires 3 steps:

1. Install your scanner device
2. Pair your scanner device with your mobile phone
3. Connect the scanner to your iOS Samples application

Install your scanner device

If it's the first time using your Zebra RFD8500 w/ 2D Imager scanner device, you need to set it up according to Zebra user guide.

Please follow closely the guide to

• Setup the device
• Install Zebra RFID application
• Configure scanner settings
• Configure RFID region

Pair your scanner with your mobile phone

1. Go to your iOS device’s Settings page > Bluetooth.
2. Make sure the Bluetooth toggle is turned ON
3. The scanner serial number will appear under Other Devices
4. Tap to pair. If you're having any issues pairing a Bluetooth device on your Apple phone, visit this page.

Connect to Samples iOS application

Once installed and configured you can go to your Samples iOS application.

Select More and tap RFID Scan Gun in the Hardware section.
